MANILA, Philippines - With its 75th birthday drawing near, Krispy Kreme unwrapped a special gift that’s meant to encourage everyone to get into its culture of sharing.
Held at the brand’s Bonifacio Global City (BGC) store, Krispy Kreme recently held an event to launch its year-long 2012 campaign titled “Share the Gift of Joy.” The affair was spearheaded by Krispy Kreme chairman Jim Fuentebella and managing director Carlyn Salud, and saw the gathering of the brand’s 12 partner charities in one room.
“Today, we’re celebrating two things: Krispy Kreme’s 75th birthday and the formal launch of our increased effort to share with others — the Share the Gift of Joy Campaign,” said Jim Fuentebella. “As you all know, Krispy Kreme is a brand that’s all about sharing — a doughnut brand, which, throughout the years, has continuously strived to bring smiles to more people. That is why for our 75th birthday, we thought to ourselves, “What is a better way to celebrate than to share with more people?’”
The Share the Gift of Joy campaign mechanics are simple: every time someone purchases the brand’s specially-designed 75th birthday tin cans, Krispy Kreme puts aside P20 to help its partner charities — equally dividing the total accumulated fund among the causes at the end of the campaign.
Another highlight of the event involved revealing Krispy Kreme’s new 75th birthday logo and the introduction of its 12 partner charities which includes the Autism Society Philippines (ASP), ABS-CBN Foundation Inc.-Bantay Kalikasan, Caritas Manila Inc., Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Visual Arts and Museum Division, Development and Accessibility Fund for the Deaf Inc. (DeAF Deaf Inc.), Friends of Hope Inc., ICanServe Foundation Inc., Kythe Inc., Operation Smile Philippines (OSP), Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Philippine Red Cross (PRC), and Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society Inc. (PNPCSI).
