Recipe File: School's out, let's celebrate

MANILA, Philippines - The time of class trips, long study hours, exams, and project presentations is coming to an end. School year 2011-2012 is almost over and one occasion that a lot of students and parents are looking forward to now is graduation.

Knowing what to serve is as important as the decoration, entertainment, and gifts. A well-planned dinner tells the graduate how important he/she is and how wonderful the graduation itself is. To help you plan the menu, here is a recipe from the San Miguel Great Food Club.

Surf And Turf Skewers

Ingredients:

6 pcs. Purefoods Chick N Tasty hotdogs, cut into bite-size pieces

200 grams prawns, peeled and deveined

2 pcs. white onions, quartered

1 piece eggplant, cut into bite-size pieces

1 piece bell peppers, cut into bite-size pieces

1/2 cup banana ketchup

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. fine chili sauce

2 tbsp. honey

1 tbsp. minced garlic

Procedure:

Prepare sauce by combining ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, fine chili sauce, honey and garlic. Set aside. Skewer hotdogs, prawns and vegetables on barbecue sticks. Grill over hot coals for two to four minutes, basting occasionally with prepared sauce.

Makes six servings.
