MANILA, Philippines - It’s time to visit our freezers, bring out all our leftovers and turn out more delicious recipe innovations by SMC Pure Foods Culinary Center. These recipes are light and healthy, a far cry from the calorie-laden fare everybody had during the holidays.
Beef Florentine Sandwich
Ingredients:
For the spread
1/2 cup Magnolia Gold Butter, softened
1 tbsp. capers, minced
1-2 pcs. anchovies, minced
8 pcs. white bread, slightly toasted
4 pcs. curly lettuce leaves, washed and picked
2 pcs. salad tomatoes, sliced
2 pcs. red onions, sliced
1/4 kilo leftover roast beef, sliced
Procedure:
In a bowl, combine butter, capers, and anchovies. Mix until well blended.
To assemble, spread butter mixture onto bread. Place lettuce, tomatoes, onions then roast beef then top with additional butter spread if desired. Cover with another piece of bread. Do the same for the other sandwiches.
Ham and Egg Sub Sandwich
Ingredients:
4 pcs. mini baguette, sliced lengthwise
1/2 cup mayonnaise
4 pcs. curly lettuce leaves
1 pc. cucumber, peeled and sliced into rounds
4 pcs. hard boiled eggs, sliced into rounds
1/4 kilo Purefood Fiesta Ham, thinly sliced
Procedure:
Spread equal amounts of mayonnaise onto halved mini baguettes. Place the lettuce leaves then the cucumbers followed by the egg slices. Lastly top with ham then cover with bread.
