MANILA, Philippines - Discover Japanese cuisine at “The Best of Anime,” a festival of exhibits, gaming, cosplay, concert and special activities for anime and manga enthusiasts.
The Best of Anime 2010, slated on Sept. 19 at Function Room 5 of the SMX Convention Center, features special onstage events on the various aspects of anime and Japanese culture.
From 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the stage area, Japanese restaurant Yoshinoya will host two food events to showcase its world-famous gyudon (beef and rice bowl) based on a recipe created at the Nihonbashi fish market in Chuo-ko, Tokyo in 1899. Yoshinoya will conduct a demo of “The Art of Beef Dishing Up,” as well as a Beef Eating Contest.
The festival will also showcase a Japanese Cooking Pavilion, which will hold cooking lessons and demonstrations for sushi, sashimi and other Japanese dishes; a cooking competition; and a tea ceremony demonstration.
