MANILA, Philippines - What dining experience could be better than having one’s food cooked a la minute with the skilled maneuvers of the chef in the house?
This March, Dusit Thani Manila’s Japanese restaurant Umu tempts the palate with its teppanyaki classic style and modern fusion menu.
Umu offers a combination of live entertainment and an authentic Zen ambience for lunch and dinner. The restaurant treats its customers to professional cooking via the classic teppanyaki style. A wide variety of fresh vegetables, US meat, and seafood items are prepared and cooked in front of the diners, and served right away.
These concoctions include grouper fillet on pumpkin beetroot julienne and lemon-capers, salsa, and dill; salmon filet on green asparagus, sweet mango, and wasabi mayonnaise; scallop and prawn on lemon grass sate, green asparagus, and spicy and balsamic tomatoes. Other teppanyaki selections include ginger-marinated chicken breast on grilled tofu, Japanese shiitake mushrooms and beetroot; US beef rib eye with grilled wasabi vegetable and pink pepper sauce; and tuna fillet in sea wheat on mango- pineapple ragout with fresh ginger and coriander.
