The Neo Rock in Human Black

MANILA, Philippines - In the offbeat world of edgy clothing, summer takes a whole new meaning for Human. Dark, eccentric and playfully chaotic, Human Black’s collection is inspired by the Neo Rock aesthetic that gives summer fashion more attitude and character. Both collections feature an edgy mix of party wear staples like cross and skull prints, leather, and studs. As opposed to the easy-breezy dress code people are used to for summer, Human Black collection is a breath of fresh air in a season underscored by lightweight fabrics, vibrant colors and prints, and fuss-free silhouettes.

To best embody what the collection is about, the two fearless, creative, and talented duos (whose edgy personalities suit the Human DNA) endorse its latest campaign: DJ tandem Deuce Manila’s Patty Tiu and Kat de Jesus, Paulo Castro and Jujiin Samonte.

Patty says the best thing she loves about Human is that it celebrates “individuality and freedom.” Kat supports what Patty points out, saying, “Individuality and originality can go a long way. Fashion is speaking out your mind without having to use words.”

In the campaign, they injected their sleek and edgy signature styles. They paired pieces that have a balance of light and dark colors as well as loose and fitted silhouettes — mixing and matching pieces like a subdued collared blouse with a fiery pair of leather leggings, an oversize statement shirt with black tights, a light gray loose-fit shirt and dark denim shorts.

Meanwhile, Paulo and Jujiin exemplify their own definition of “beauty” through their gender-bending styling. The people behind Human think their image is aligned with that of the brand’s, when they showcased their stylishly eccentric flair as DJs during Human Weekend Fair last December.

In the campaign, they confidently sport shirt dresses, cropped tops, and sarong-like bottoms, hence looking effortlessly edgy and ultra-fashionable. Human’s basic shirts and pants provide a lot of room for layering with add-ons, altogether taking on a bolder, fiercer appeal.

Jujiin expresses, “My style is the extension of my imagination, feelings and obsessions. Human beats the drum for the stylish youth! It is an avenue to start marrying fabrics and personality to launch your stylish imagination.” Paulo, on the other hand, shares, “Fashion is all about self-expression, so this is something that means a lot to us.”
