MANILA, Philippines -The Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) holds its annual bazaar Casa y Jardin on Sept. 7 and 8, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rockwell Tent.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be done by Dr. Elenita Binay, Senator Cynthia Villar and Cecile van Straten.
On sale is the limited-edition Mother & Child plate by National Artist H.R. Ocampo, who is also the featured artist of the bazaar.
The bazaar also features the heirloom collection, which consists of antique furniture pieces, jewelry, paintings and other prized possessions.
The CWC gold elephant table offers various items donated by members and will be sold at giveaway prices.
Specialty dishes like pickled vegetables, cheese spreads, pastries, cakes and other goodies are cooked and prepared by the members and donated to the club to earn more for the club’s beneficiaries fill the holiday foods table.
Also on sale are maid’s uniforms sewn by women who were trained through CWC’s initiative, which is chaired by Tessie Rodrigo. CWC funded the building of a social hall and purchased sewing machines to provide employment to housewives living at Gawad Kalinga Community in Onyx, Manila.
The committee is headed by president Maritess Pineda and members Milo Bondoc as chairperson, Terry Tambunting and Michelle Antonio as co-chairpersons. Highlight of the bazaar is a grand raffle on Sept. 8.
