Power pop and power-dressing with The Lylas

MANILA, Philippines -The girls from the international all-girl pop band, The Lylas, are the latest style ambassadors of Robinsons Department Store (RDS) Women’s Wear. Recognized for their music as well as for their individual fashion sense, the brunette beauties headline the store’s different private label brands catering to women of all ages and different fashion tastes.

The Lylas, which stands for Love You Like A Sister, is composed of Jaime Kailani, Tahiti, Tiara and Presley. They grew up on the tropical island of Honolulu in Hawaii and hail from a family of musicians where much of their musical influences stem from.  They mention Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Adele and Madonna as some of their biggest inspirations in music. The girls recently released their debut single, Come Back, and are not just making waves in the music industry but have also signed on with US cable network WE TV for their own reality series. The series will follow the girls as they make the big move from Hawaii to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams.

Fans following the foursome’s rise to fame will definitely see a different side to each band member that they can relate to, especially when it comes to their fashion picks from Robinsons. Despite being surrounded by designer labels, The Lylas chose to represent RDS in the Philippines because of the brand’s practical but sophisticated selection that go well with their diverse lifestyles and personalities.

“We are four different women who have four different things going on in our lives, but we’re all headed in the same direction toward the same goal,” says Jaime Kailani in a recent interview. “We’re in different places in our lives, and hopefully we can be inspiring to women.”

As close as they might be with their gorgeous Filipino and Puerto Rican genes running in their veins, the four sisters admit that when it comes to clothes, they are different as day and night. For instance, Jaime Kailani prefers earth tones and a more toned-down look. Tahiti, meanwhile, is the sexy siren of the bunch and is not afraid to show some skin. Tiara channels her inner rocker chic with a wardrobe full of studs, spikes, and practically anything black. Presley is the quintessential urban chick who is not afraid to mix it up with the latest trends.
