MANILA, Philippines - The perfect combination of wit, humor and social relevance is not the equation of a brewing gag show nor a well-anticipated reality documentary, but rather, a critically-acclaimed stage play. Folded & Hung, together with Jellybean and Wade, brought together society’s A-list, to celebrate a night of Caredivas, a story of five Filipino gay workers in Israel as they struggle juggling their lives as caregivers and club performers. Everyone enjoyed watching the pageantry of colorful costumes, jived to the upbeat production numbers and laughed at the exchange of perfectly timed punch lines. It was also an awakening on the conditions of immigrant workers and the revelation of dreams and ambitions that sustain them.
Caredivas is a production of PETA (Philippine Education Theatre Association) and will run a series of shows in December.
