Fila gallops into its 100th year

MANILA, Philippines - Fila recently held The Fila Polo Cup as part of its 100th anniversary celebration, and as a way of continuing its own brand of tradition.

What began in 2004 as patronage for the sport has evolved into a custom for polo aficionados. And what Fila, Tiva, Outdoors and Everest CEO Cris Albert has basically done is to make The Fila Polo Cup one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Realmonte, Greggy Araneta and Irene Marcos, Marivic Rufino, Tessa Prieto Valdez, Spanish players Louis Ordas and Jaime Espinosa, 6 Goal Professional Argentine player Santi Laborde, Miguel Tambunting, Ralph Joseph, Finnish Ambassador Heikki Hannikainen, Isabelle Daza and her beau Adrien Semblat, Gloria Diaz, Georgina Wilson and Phoemela Baranda, among others. Fila endorsers Borgy Manotoc and Tim Yap hosted the event.

The brains behind the brand: Cris Albert and Butch Albert have made The Fila Polo Cup one of the most anticipated and celebrity-studded events of the year.

This year, The Fila Polo Cup went back to its European roots, teaming up with Bizu to deliver a delightful Italian afternoon tea party with a bevy of dishes, as well as champagne. And each of the guests wanted to see what the young and bright Fila CEO has cooked up this time around, as The Fila Polo Cup tradition combines a king’s sport with sophisticated extravagance.
