Intimate weddings and a lifestyle event

Intimate weddings in the Philippines are often difficult to do because of our big extended families, huge circle of friends, and business associates.  If you look hard enough, many of us are probably related by blood or marriage to a large number of people in our expanding communities. We end up being connected because we are in-laws of an in-law or a cousin of a cousin.

Loving family and close friends who celebrated the recent weddings of two young couples had just the perfect way to end the first quarter of the year. Businessman Jericho Nograles and finance expert Ginggay Navarro finally tied the knot after an eight-year courtship that started in college. With springtime as a motif, the elegant event made everyone smile with delight. The colorful floral arrangements, string quartet and a rock-’n’-rolling band livened up the evening’s celebration at the Manila Peninsula ballroom.

Low-key Vicente de Leon Rufino and lawyer Maddie Avanzado have been huge video-game enthusiasts and the wedding’s medieval Asian theme at the Blue Leaf in Fort Bonifacio was truly a fun affair. Guests entering the venue were greeted by a good luck dragon parade in the hall leading to the reception.  With swaying belly dancers, sword fights, acrobats and music galore, the affair turned out to be a most colorful, animated and exotic nuptial party that will be hard to top in terms of fun and audience participation.

Some of the country’s best-dressed ladies attended the launch of the Lifestyle Asia Platinum Circle at Salon de Ning.  Jerry Tiu and Anna Sobrepeña headed an enjoyable evening that gathered a number of social, political, and business personalities that reflected living at its finest.
