MANILA, Philippines - They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If they are taken with the right camera, they’re probably worth a whole lot more. Well, as point and shoot mobile phone cameras go, the new Samsung Pixon M8800 pushes the envelope to a whole new level.

Demonstrating its advanced features with an exciting media tour and a subsequent show that was nothing short of spectacular, the new 8-megapixel wonder from Samsung Mobile captures our most memorable moments in the best possible way, thanks to advanced picture-taking functions, photo and video uploading features, and a large touch-enabled screen, all housed in a sleek and stylish dual face structure.

Guests had to go through the gallery which highlighted the Pixon M8800’s various capabilities including Fast Advanced Shake Reduction, Face Tagging and Recognition, Auto Contrast Balance, Automatic Panorama Shot, Smile Shot, Blink Shot features. It also boasts of an equally impressive Photo Browser function that categorizes snapshots by time, color tone, and composition, making photo browsing easier and faster.

Other features of the Pixon that was also punctuated during the launch include its mobile blogging capabilities via popular social networking sites like Facebook, Friendster and Flickr as well as a very formidable Music Recognition Feature that has the ability to get the song title of a song within the first few notes.

Hosted by Nikki Gil and Trishan Cuaso, the show was highlighted by a breathtaking audio-visual presentation of the Samsung Pixon. A lavish dinner was then unveiled while guests were further treated to show-stopping numbers from Billy Crawford and the All-Stars.

The powerful 8-megapixel full touch screen phone, an energetic crowd, and a full-on entertainment — all this summed up an enchanting evening that was simply well, picture perfect.
