It makes scents to go light

Dear Lucy,

I have always admired you for your beauty and down-to-earth character. How lucky your beloved Goma must be! You have maintained a slim figure and you are always well-dressed. I would like to know what cologne or perfume you are using during the day and at night. I was not able to get the name of the perfume you mentioned during your guesting at ANC Channel. Thank you so much and more power to you.

SUZETTE

I like very light scents, nothing heavy. My current favorite is Jo Malone in a scent called Verbenas of Provence. I also like their lime, basil, and mandarin scent. At night, I use Jo Malone in vetyver. When I was in college, I used Clinique Happy. Until now, I still keep a bottle of it on my dresser table. It brings back fun memories of growing up.

Falling Locks

DEAR MARY, I have dandruff and I can’t get rid of it. I’ve tried all kinds of anti-dandruff products, but to no avail. Right now, I’m using Bioselenium, but it seems there’s no change at all. Help!

EMDEE

Many people have found Nizoral quite effective. Or you can go to Essenses at Rustan’s and check out Phyto. Phyto has wonderful products that do wonders for assorted hair problems – dandruff being just one of them.

Facing Your Blackheads
DEAR TINGTING,

I read in your column that to remove blackheads, you have to steam your face. Please tell me how to do it properly step by step. I would also like to know if I can use ice chips to close the pores after removing the blackheads because you said I have to use astringent.

MS. BLACKHEADS

Yes, steam your face. When you’re perspiring and wet, get a face towel with soap and use in a circular motion to clean your face. Stubborn blackheads? Prick them to get them out.

Yes, you can close the pores with ice chips. Apply astringent and then moisturizer.
