Fitter, funkier, more active

Don’t you just hate it when you get what-to-wear dilemmas especially when you are in a hurry? I know it is such a hassle because I get that almost every day. There are times when you just can’t get the right pieces together. Sometimes, it is best to resort to fashion magazines or watch FTV to get an idea of what to wear.

Putting a stress-free wardrobe together should be fun. Think of layering elaborate garments and mixing and matching pieces. After all, the perfect outfit should be fashionable, functional and comfortable which you could wear from daytime to nighttime. And don’t forget, it should also have the right fit to show body contours.

Recently, swimwear brand Speedo launched two lines at Temple Bar in Greenbelt 2, which are just as charming as the brand’s main line.

The Spdo and Axcelerate collections run the gamut, from alluring to sporty: Think practical get-ups with sweet prints and cool fabrics for the perfect silhouettes. The lines come in a range of flattering colors that can easily be mixed and matched, underlining their versatility. Their color palette stretches from soft pastel pinks and baby blues, to a fashionable olive, as well as classic black, white and navy.

"Speedo has always been known as the brand for the ‘pool consumer’," says Manish Mahtani, Speedo’s VP for operations. "Apparel is a natural extension to swimwear. The clothes of Spdo and Axcelerate are edgy, funky and functional." So, you can definitely wear these outfits for a variety of activities.

In true Speedo fashion, Spdo was developed for multi-tasking women who are always on the go. This range boasts comfortable and stylish pieces made from 100 percent cotton and elastane. The double layer halter-top has a built-in bra that provides support. The zip-through jacket, trousers and shorts have a sporty mesh-tape trim that shows off the feminine silhouettes. For more funk, the Vera Strappy Top and T-shirt has a fine, fluid print in soft colors and metallic highlights. The Aroma vest has a feminine flock print. Spdo’s Float jacket, trouser and Aloe trouser in carbon-finished, cotton-spandex and embroidery.

With the expanded range of body skimming, super comfy line from Speedo also comes a more engineered performance line. Axcelerate is a very versatile collection geared for high-impact sports. The stretch woven shorts have a shaped side seam pockets with a mesh paneling for ultimate "breathability." In The Gym Pants makes use of a technical fabric and lycra to ensure moisture management and anti-bacterial treatment. If you want something more comfortable, the core capri has a wider waistband that is adjustable. For aerobics or cardio exercises, the Performance Bra top is extremely sexy. The seamless camisole features adjustable straps and internal bust support for optimum fit.

"The lines are a fusion of function, form and undeniable value for the consumer’s money especially with the technology put into developing them," explains Mahtani. The differentiating factor of Spdo and Axcelerate is that they value the female fit and form. The new collections are especially made for Asian women with petite frames. Not surprising, since designer Anika Anderson is half-American and half-Japanese with a British accent. She brought two worlds together in creating lines that women really want and need.

Since the Philippines is a mature market, women know what they want. Mahtani concludes, "Speedo’s job is to make sure that we are always up-to-date with trends like Spdo and Axcelerate’s low-waist trousers and double tank tops. Versatility is also the key so women can just mix and match everything and wear them from early morning until late at night."

Now, that makes everyday dressing up even more fun and funky.
