MANILA, Philippines - Cosplay enthusiasts from all over gathered at Eton City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna last Feb. 17 for Kumersyo’s New World Cosplay Show a showcase of creativity and talent as everybody’s favorite heroes and villains were brought to life by anime fanatics who geared up and paraded in handmade costumes.
From the adorable Adventure Time characters Finn and Jake, to hardcore anime and video game characters such as General Lubu and the barbarians of Diablo 3, cosplayers battled it out to win titles in a contest judged by comedic journalist Marc Logan and Freddie Tan — the proprietor of Neutral Grounds Philippines. This event capped off Eton City’s series of “Heroes and Villainsâ€â€“themed Chinese New Year activities, which commenced last Feb. 11.
In celebration of the Year of the Snake, Eton City prepared a weeklong event that featured various games and activities for the young and young at heart. To launch the week’s festivities, a giant anime display was set up for photo ops, as well as other family-friendly activities such as a robot-making contest, an acoustic night performance, interactive displays, game booths, tournaments and a grand bazaar of unique and hearty finds. Year in joy and positivity, a dragon dance was performed to entertain the guests and usher in positive vibes for the year ahead.
