MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of the 47th year of Repertory Philippines, the year 2014 marks the 77th theater season with an exciting line-up of shows.
The season starts with Wait Until Dark, a thriller by Frederick Knott. It will be staged from Jan. 17 to Feb. 19. When Sam Hendrix carries a doll across the Canada-US border, he sets of a chain of events that will lead to a terrifying ordeal for his blind wife, Susy.
The next play is August Osage County, a black comedy by Tracy Letts. It will be staged from Feb. 21 to March 16. At the Oklahoma farmhouse of the Westons, the patriarch, Beverly, goes missing. The family gathers together at the farmhouse hoping for good news, but, after five days, his body is found in a lake, a presumed suicide.
Noises Off, a play by Michael Frayn, will be staged from March 28 to April 27. This comedy/farce in three acts starts in the middle of dress/tech rehearsal for a theater company tackling Noises On, an English sex farce in which two couples cross paths at a country manor.
The Rep also tackles Pinocchio and Scrooge by the end of the year.
