Gallery News: ‘27th Asian Int’l Art Exhibition Homecoming’ at Ayala Museum

“How Many More Stones Must We Ask Before We Finally Get It?” by Teresita Mapua  

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Museum will host the “27th Asian International Art Exhibition (AIAE) Homecoming” show, which opens on June 4 at the Ground Floor Gallery, Ayala Museum, Makati City. The show runs until July 7.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Philippine’s participation in the annual AIAE, represented by the country’s most distiguished contemporary artists.

With the theme “Asian Soil,” the show touches on idioms and concepts such as shared roots, origins and creation, territory and identity.

Participating Filipino artists are National Artist Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, Ferdinand Cacnio, Ramon Orlina, Ambie Abaño, Pandy Aviado, Marina Cruz, Vincent de Pio, Janos Delacruz, Aileen Lanuza, Nemi Miranda, Raffy Napay, Susan Fetalvero-Roces, Eghai Roxas, Don Salubayba and Rodel Tapaya.

Maria Taniguchi at ArtBasel 44 in Switzerland

Silverlens presents a solo exhibition by Maria Taniguchi, which is slated from June 13 to 16 at the Statements section of Art Basel 44 in Basel, Switzerland.
This marks the first time that a Philippine gallery participates in the fair.

Taniguchi’s work develops from an interest in organizational structures. Her practice evolves in parallel strands. On one hand, she narrows down on methodology by utilizing techniques of image processing, series and repetition.

Teresita Mapua at ArtGalileia
