MANILA, Philippines - National Artist Abdulmari Asia Imao, multi-faceted artist Claude Tayag, and sculptor Juan Sajid Imao mount “Triangulo” currently on view at The Gallery, second floor of Greenbelt 5, Makati City.
Imao, the first Moro to be honored as National Artist in 2006, shows his famed indigenous ukkil and sarimanok designs in his acrylic paintings as well as selected sarimanok-themed sculptures. Tayag continues his playful explorations in wood with his functional sculptures. Sajid conveys his personal experiences with his bold sculptures in hammered brass.
Imao’s works in this exhibit will be included in an upcoming coffee-table book about him.
Ongoing until April 25 at The Gallery, second level of Greenbelt 5 (near Adora) and then from April 26 to April 27 at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center Makati.
