MANILA, Philippines - Megaworld Corporation chairman and president Andrew Tan recently toured Europe and the continent’s landmark opera houses to firm up plans for his new Grand Opera House project in the upcoming Resorts World Bayshore (RWB) City in Pagcor Entertainment City Manila.
The Grand Opera House will be an even bigger venue than Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) with a capacity close to 2,500. And as can be expected, the Grand Opera House is set to make technical leaps over the NPAT.
“But beyond the lighting, sound effects and technology, it is still talent that carries a production through. The talent pool in the Philippines is huge. The performing arts is one area where the Filipino has succeeded for decades,” says Tan. “Considering that NPAT and the Grand Opera House are located in two of the country’s world-class integrated tourism estates, Filipino talent will definitely feel at home in the world stage.”
