The coffee-table book Tales of the Argonauts: A Collection of Stories of the Tau Alpha Fraternity, will be launched on Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m., at RJ Planet on Jupiter St. in Makati City.
The launching of the commemorative book in time for the UP Engineering fraternity’s 75th anniversary will serve as the main feature of the Tau Alpha Shindig that will also award six academic assistance checks to resident brods.
An entertainment presentation by the residents will be capped by the traditional “Kalbuhan” of the three newest brods, as well as awards of distinction given to several senior members, namely Bert Mendoza for his chairmanship of the Launching Day Committee of the UP Centennial Celebrations while being current co-manager of the UP. Varsity Men’s Basketball Team; Herbie Rosales for his composition of “Ang Galing Mo, UP!” — the Centennial celebration’s theme song; and Joel Ajero for his Eternal Flame Cauldron.
The Golden Fleece Award will also be conferred on an outstanding brod, while a special award awaits Rene Santiago for his editorial supervision of the coffee-table book.
