“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” — Marcel Proust
Forty years of wedded bliss is definitely a milestone worth commemorating. To cherish an enduring love, tested and refined through time, loving couple Bob and Betsy Tenchavez recently celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary.
The couple’s family and almost 300 friends trooped to Sonya’s Garden in Alfonso, Cavite to take part in the meaningful affair. The venue was magically transformed to replicate interesting landmarks in New York City, a place sentimental to Bob and Betsy because it is where they first met and eventually got married. Guests beamed with happiness as they witnessed the couple walk down the aisle to the music of Bernie Pasamba, who sang Our Love Affair, and affectionately renew their vows, promising to walk with each other as they journey on to their golden years. A touching thanksgiving Mass solemnized by Fr. Jerry Orbos and concelebrated with Monsignor Dan Sta. Maria and Fr. Herb Schneider.
Afterwards, guests enjoyed a delectable array of cheeses from New York, jamon bellota from Barcelona and overflowing wine from Argentina, followed by an impeccable dinner with Tender Bob’s roast beef belly as the piece de resistance. The joyful gathering was highlighted with the cutting of the “wedding” cake, a champagne toast, a heartwarming video presentation prepared by the children and musical entertainment by the MOBB (Men of Blue Blood) band that had everyone dancing all throughout the night.
Congratulations and happy ruby anniversary, Bob and Betsy!
One enchanting evening
The lovely Joanna, daughter of Sta. Lucia Realty and Development, Inc. president and CEO Exequiel Robles and Matilde “Diding” Robles, recently marked her 18th birthday with a coming-of-age debut celebration.
The gathering took place at the famous Le Pavillon Metropolitan Park in Pasay City, which was transformed into a magical rainforest complete with waterfalls as backdrop. Family, friends and well-wishers came to show their love and support for Joanna, who dazzled in grand ball gowns created by the country’s top designers. The evening was highlighted with a Cotillion, the traditional dance of the 18 roses, the giving away of treasures and wishes and moving performances from family members. Singer-actress Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo in her role as fairy godmother, sang Defying Gravity and Don’t Rain on My Parade amidst the awe-inspiring juggling acts of air dancers. What an unforgettable celebration indeed for everyone who witnessed the full blossoming of a woman!
Congratulations, Joanna!
