MANILA, Philippines - Recently delighting Manila’s dining fans at the Makati Shangri-La with his tantalizing signature creations, Chef Sam Leong, one of Singapore’s culinary maestros and superstars, affirmed his mastery of his unique new traditional Chinese cuisine.
His use of Western and Asian spices to enhance his innovations of the classic Chinese cuisine has made him a trendsetter in the culinary industry, and a “favorite among peers and food enthusiasts alike,” making privileged diners consider themselves fortunate to have enjoyed his cooking.
Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) Priority Passengers Services group (PPS), who regularly receive VIP privileges for their continued support and loyalty to the airline, were among those who experienced Chef Leong’s glamorous feast as well. Having been introduced to his cooking style and taste in at least one of their frequent flights, they had definitely looked forward to the full-course version they were treated to.
Chef Leong is a member of SIA’s prestigious International Culinary Panel, comprised of eight award-winning chefs from the culinary capitals of the world. The panel also includes Michelin chefs Georges Blanc of France, Yoshihiro Murata of Japan, India’s Sanjeev Kapoor, Matthew James Moran of Australia, Alfred Portale of the United States and Zhu Jun of China. These culinary masters work closely with the top business airline’s own chefs, to specially develop and create the much-touted selection available on board.
