Carla Abellana:Young and radiant

MANILA, Philippines - Carla Abellana defies time by looking like a teenager when in fact she is already in her mid-twenties!

“I’m not getting any younger but I’ve been fortunate to have good genes and help from Beverly Hills 6750. I trust its expertise to keep me beautiful and that boosts my confidence! Being in an industry where looks play a very crucial part, it’s important to look your best,” says Carla.

BH6750 offers a menu of services that includes aesthetic plastic/cosmetic surgery, skin care and rejuvenation, cosmetic dentistry, cosmetic gynecology, weight-loss management and surgery, and state-of-the-art varicose veins treatment. Its corporate purpose revolves around its belief in “Positive Transformation” that is not only in terms of a physical cosmetic improvement, but also in relation to the person’s confidence and self-esteem.

The multi-aesthetic institute, which has had world-class beauties enter its doors like former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz and her daughter Isabelle Daza, is set to open its second clinic next month in Quezon City, along Timog Avenue.

Beauty regimen

For Carla, Facial Hydroxygen Treatment, which rehydrates skin, and Oxygen Facial, which helps her achieve healthier, radiant and younger-looking skin, are staples in her regimen. She also regularly avails herself of Accent Treatment, a very popular treatment for body contouring, which involves the use of radiofrequency to heat both the skin surface and the deeper fat layers that causes skin tightening and fat cell shrinkage, a non-invasive procedure for body contouring.

“When you are in front of the camera, you look two to three times bigger, so body contouring treatments like the Accent is important,” adds Carla, who is currently busy with Magic Palayok, a fantaserye on GMA Channel 7, where she clocks in at least 12 hours of shooting time three times a week.

Carla considers her grandmother, actress Delia Razon, as her beauty icon. She and her sister Erika, who works as a sales consultant at Beverly Hills 6750, freely share their beauty tips. Although Carla claims she is low maintenance in terms of keeping herself looking young and radiant, she is unlike her sister Erika, who enjoys tinkering and experimenting with makeup.

“I try to get at least eight hours of sleep because if I sleep less, I feel that I don’t look good. I also drink a lot of water. I bring a jug of water wherever I go,” says Carla.

Before leaving home, she puts on a moisturizer with SPF 25. She wears no makeup on days where she is not working.

How does she deal with intrigues? “In the beginning, I cried over them. But with the support of family and friends, they became easier to get by.”

She advises women to not think of problems too much, go to the spa, have a massage, visit a beauty clinic or take out-of-town trips.  And shop? “Where do I start?” asks Carla with a laugh. These days she admits to gravitating towards quality shoe pieces — Dorothy Perkins and Christian Louboutin.

It looks like love also helps. Carla, who is open about her relationship to equally good-looking actor Geoff Eigenmann, her co-star in the fantaserye, muses: “He makes me happy — the thought that he loves me makes me feel stronger. He takes care of me, I see all his efforts.”
