MANILA, Philippines - It is important to create balance in all areas of life. In this age where everyone seems to be taking their life to vast extremes, it is quite difficult to find balance in one’s life. Good thing 25-year-old Faye Bordeos has her parents to help her find that perfect balance in her life. Her dad, businessman Rommel Bordeos, taught her to be independent. He has given her the wings to explore life and its endless possibilities. On the other hand, her mom, veterinarian Emma Bordeos, reminds her to always be cautious. Because of these two pillars in her life, Faye can both be spontaneous and careful with her decisions. At times, her independent nature leads her to make decisions on a whim and take the risk without thinking too much. Other times, she weighs all her options first before jumping into a decision.
When it comes to modeling, the 5’7” Faye is not one who would just grab any modeling stint that would come her way. “A few years ago, a close friend of mine tarnished her image by accepting a sexy shoot that’s not tastefully done,” recalls Faye, who has an impressive modeling portfolio. “This made me realize that I need to be selective of what I take up to make sure it doesn’t happen to me.” Faye, whose childhood dream was to become a lawyer, singles out supermodel Tyra Banks as her role model. For Faye, the feisty host of America’s Next Top Model is someone who has made the dreams of so many people come true. “She inspires people, especially women, to be courageous and have the will power to go for what they want in life.”
Faye’s interests range from a serene vacation at the beach to adrenaline-pumping action through extreme sports. “The satisfaction I get from these sports is exhilarating as they put me on a whole different level where there is no stress or tension.” She keeps her slim and trim figure through swimming, Muay Thai and karting. A big fan of suspense thrillers, Faye loves the haunting feeling she gets every time she watches a horror flick.
A few years from now, the full-time models sees herself settling down and running a clothing business. Also on her list is managing her own modeling agency.
“Always put your self in other people’s shoes to better understand their actions or reactions,” Faye believes.
