Civic-minded gentleman Bert Basilio recently celebrated his 75th birthday in style at the North Forbes Pavilion. He made the joyous occasion into a fundraising affair for the improvement and beautification of the town plaza of Penaranda, Nueva Ecija, his wife Nonie’s hometown. The exhilarating dinner-dance was punctuated by musical numbers by friends Pitang Tiongson, Muebles Italiano president Noel Gonzales, Eimee Cragun and as a special gift from Esther Vibal, a musical performance by talented tenor Jonathan Badon. The wondrous night, was concluded with a roast and toast by your columnist and the blowing of the birthday candle.

A Splendid Affair
It was a very auspicious launch for Sta. Lucia Realty and JAKA Group of Companies as they recently unveiled their latest property collaboration: the majestic Splendido Taal Towers. JAKA president and CEO Katrina Ponce Enrile was glowing the whole night as she introduced her project to the guests. Gracing the occasion to lend their support were Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile together with Cristina Enrile as well as Sta. Lucia’s president and CEO Exequiel Robles and their new corporate marketing director Michelle Robles. Everyone had a great time as scrumptious Spanish cuisine was served: the specialty of the Splendido Towers’ La Esquina restaurant.

Wilcon and PIID begin National Interior Design Competition
Wilcon Builders Depot/Supply and Philippine Institute of Interior Design (PIID) officially began Wilcon’s 1st National Interior Design Competition when they recently held a contract signing agreement at the PIID office in Makati. The design competition is open to all Filipino students of interior design in a university curriculum and to all regular members of PIID. The age bracket of participants is limited to 18 to 45 years old only. Application forms are available in the president’s office in all schools and universities, Wilcon stores nationwide or from the PIID office at 8th Floor Filomena Bldg., 104 Amorsolo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.
