Reaching the summit

"The tallest trees are most in the power of the winds, and ambitious men of the blasts of fortune." – William Penn

A golfer’s gem in Lipa City stands proud and mighty. The Summit Point Golf 7 Residential Estate, a 220-hectare property by Sta. Lucia Realty & Development Inc., is the new destination for golfers like me in search of a challenge. Conceived by expert golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr., the 18-hole course was inspired by some of the world’s best golf courses. On its inauguration day, prominent personalities in the political, social and business circles such as Vice President Noli de Castro, Sta. Lucia Realty & Development Inc. president Exequiel Robles, Summit Point landowners and former Batangas Gov. Conrad Leviste and lovely wife Patsy gathered in the Summit Point Clubhouse for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Congratulations and see you on the Summit Point greens!
Dinner-dance for a cause
The Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI), a non-stock, non-profit charitable organization at the forefront in the campaign against tuberculosis, recently held a successful benefit dinner-dance at the Manila Polo Club, thanks to the efforts of hardworking duo Lally Laurel-Trinidad and Nonie Basilio. The well-heeled guests enjoyed an evening of ballroom dancing, and singer-comedian Noel Trinidad, Lally’s husband, and talented stage-actor son Joel delighted everyone with their impromptu renditions of familiar Broadway tunes. PTSI president Nini Quezon-Avanceña was overjoyed with the outpouring of support for her mission to combat the dreaded disease. Congratulations to the PTSI for a successful event!
