A luxurious launch

"Happiness sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open." – Victor Hugo

Manila’s crème de la crème recently flocked to the NBC Tent at The Fort to witness the unveiling of the Nokia 8800. The interior was decorated in black and silver, in theme with the luxurious phone’s sleek design. Hardworking and dapper Nokia Country GM Parikshit Bhasin warmly welcomed the guests, as he was assisted by his ultra-efficient team led by corporate communications manager Luanne Erni, product manager Annabelle Co and Smart account manager Cristina Trinidad.

The highlight of the night was a fashion show featuring the models posing with the phone to the beat of DJ Elian’s dance music. Guests feasted on delectable gourmet cocktails from Le Soufflé while being entertained by the sultry and powerful vocals of Anna Fegi.

It definitely was an elegant feast for the senses!
Fire In A Glass
What better way to cap a rather demanding day than a delightful intimate dinner with my friends from the media industry at the well-dressed Tower Club’s Taipan Room. Once again, Hennessy, the worldwide Cognac leader, hosted the press dinner where Hennessy brand ambassador Jean-Michel Cochet shared his knowledge about the intricacies of cognac making and appreciation.

It was all fire in a glass! With Hennessy XO on the rocks, cognac proves to be truly a distillation of aromas than of alcohol – with ice, all the natural aromas of floral scent come out. Also, unlike brandy, which is typically distillates of excess wine production, Hennessy comes from wines that have gone through slow, natural ageing, that developed aromas, color and flavors, essentially cognac. One of the favorites was the marriage of VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) and ginger ale, which makes Hennessy truly vibrant and contemporary. The fine balance of smoothness and power of Hennessy were enjoyed all the more with interesting vignettes about its history, blend, aroma, taste, ideal mixes and a myriad scrumptious Chinese food.

Hennessy’s product manager Randy Uson and Diageo’s marketing director Shareena Roman also graced the momentous occasion to share their knowledge on Hennessy.

Here’s to more years of Hennessy tradition!

Johnny Says, ‘Check This Out’
When accomplished musicians and stars in their own right come together to make beautiful music together, what do you get? Red Clay, that’s what!

Red Clay is an all-star band made up of Paolo Santos on guitar and vocals, Pido on lead guitar and vocals, Jen Panuncio on vocals, Henry Katindig on keyboards, Jeri De Leon on bass and Mar Dizon on drums. Their coming-out party at Strumm’s in Makati was truly a momentous event, with their attitude of playful fun and palpable excitement inciting the audience to dance.
