At the feast of Nuestro Señora del Guadalupe, Bern and Trina exchanged "I dos" at the Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park. The wedding was officiated by Msgr. Gerry Santos and Fr. Roy Rosales.
Katrina marched down the aisle in the arm of Frank, resplendent in an Auggie Cordero French Chantilly lace and duchess satin Grace Kelly-inspired wedding gown with mini satin-covered buttons cascading from the upper back bodice throughout the length of her gown. Auggie surprised Katrina with his last-minute decision to add a bustle, thereby exuding a 50s-inspired aura of romance and nostalgia. Patrick Rosas added to the blooming brides beauty with his styling of her hair and makeup.
The cathedral length tulle veil edged with French Chantilly lace and Swarovski crystals, a gift from mom Jean, highlighted Katrinas white gold diamond dangling earrings from Pruding Alfonsos PS2 collection at the Rockwell. Powerful rendition of classic and solemn church songs were sung by Franks primo y prima Nolyn and Liza Cabahug, accompanied by the strings of Velvet Mood.
The maid of honor was best friend Bea Berenguer-Testa of Mondial Tours and the bridesmaids were high school bosom buddies Lexi Schulze and Monsi Ozaeta Cron, and sisters Stephanie and Ingrid Chavez. The best man was Berns younger brother, engineer David Carl Reyes. The principal sponsors were former DILG Secretary Rafael Alunan and Miren Berenguer-Testa; Sen. Manuel Villar and Dandy Gomez; lawyer Henry Villarica and Desi Canoy; Giovanni Olivares and Vicky Cuisia; Dr. Eduardo Rivera and Nancy Ang; Ramon Que and Nenette Duran, who proxied for Connie Ongpauco-Cauton; Gerardo Angeles and Maricel Cunanan, famous for her delicious parmesan-laden ensaymadas.
Reception followed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati. The ballroom entrance was decorated with a refreshing and serene sight of gently flowing water from the fountain set up by Tony Rodriguez, amidst a sea of pink roses as table centerpieces. Fol Rana of "Big Picture" took care of photography chores for the day. All-night dancing was provided by Toy Symphony compliments of the brides aunt, Eat Bulaga director Poochie Rivera. Footloose guests, including Katrinas classmates from UCLA who flew in for the occasion, clamored for an encore.
Let us echo a portion of Ingrid Chavezs invocation during the reception: May Bern and Trina have a long and blessed life, comfortable and holy, successful and committed to contribute their share to society!
