The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, Inc. (FAMAS) has honored a new batch of luminaries who have exceled in diverse fields for the second edition of its Prestige Awards. The noteworthy event, spearheaded by FAMAS president Francia Conrado together with FAMAS Prestige Awards head juror Dr. Nona Ricafort and juror Baby De Jesus, was held at the Fiesta Pavilion of the iconic The Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila, and gathered distinguished names from the government and the business, health, social, and arts circles.
Among the celebrated recipients was EMotors, Inc. cofounder and CEO Elizabeth “Beth” Lee, a respected figure in the motor vehicle industry, who won the Pioneering Automotive Retail and Socio-Economic Entrepreneurship award. The said accolade underscores her outstanding contributions, illuminating the profound impact of her work.
Among those included in this year’s roster of awardees were Commission on Higher Education (CHED) commissioner Dr. Ronald Adamat for Education; lawyer Dominador “Jimmy” Buhain, Jr. for Heritage and Cultural Preservation through Knowledge Based Publications; Dr. Maria Rosa “Bing” Carrion for Arts, Letters, and Literature; United Senior Citizens Party List representative Milagros Aquino-Magsaysay for Legislation and Senior Citizen Empowerment; Edna Sutter for Socialized Housing and Humanitarian Services; Thelma Tobias-Go ‘for Innovative Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurship and Socio-Medical Support; and Norna “Baby” Jesus for Humanitarian and Socio-Civic Leadership in the Creative Industries.
