Twenty-eight bridal gown designers challenge the norm by crafting bespoke pieces — in white, latte tones, and blush pink — that placed a premium on individuality and personal style over old-school aesthetic.
JC Buendia, Ivarluski Aseron, members of the Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines, young designers Banggo Niu, Steph Tan, Jo Rubio, and the student scholar of F.A.B. Creatives showed would-be brides what’s on deck in bridal fashion at the “Manila Fashion Festival Bridal Collection 2023” held recently at The Lobby, The Peninsula Manila.
Held in cooperation with Manila Fashion Festival, the event featured a series of capsule collections that combined the intimacy of a boutique show and the beauty of bridal fashion set against the backdrop of The Lobby’s iconic “Sunburst” sculpture by National Artist Napoleon “Billy” Abueva.
There were diverse silhouettes from columns to tea lengths to riding jackets to ballgowns to suits that catered to different women with different needs.
