International luxury brand Jewelmer lit up the runway at CCI France Philippines’ (French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines) 75th Anniversary Gala in partnership with the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia.
The noteworthy event, held at the Raffles and Fairmont in Makati City, was a tribute to the strength and longevity of the diplomatic relations between France and the Philippines over the last 75 years and highlighted the two countries’ dynamic cultures.
Jewelmer presented the evening’s once-in-a-lifetime fashion show inspired by the picturesque coastlines of Brittany, France and the Philippines’ national gem, the golden South Sea pearl, in collaboration with five renowned Filipino designers.
Other highlights from the festive gathering included a six-course fine-dining meal prepared by the distinguished French chef Alain Passard, owner of three-Michelin-starred Parisian restaurant L’Arpège, together with chefs Jessie Sincioco and Bela Rieck.
Guests also enjoyed the pleasure of meeting famous French artists, namely, multi-awarded actress Isabelle Huppert and actor Lucas Bravo, who wore Jewelmer’s Pearl of Hope bracelet.
Fashion for a worthy cause
The Rotary Club of Makati Ayala Triangle (RCMAT), under the leadership of its indefatigable charter president Prescy Yulo, held the much-awaited fashion show entitled “Pilipinas Now” at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City.
Renowned couturier Amir Sali showcased his lovely and eye-catching pieces to the delight of the guests, who themselves are massive fashion aficionados. Everyone was in awe of the elegant creations of the Paris-trained designer to Saudi royalty and it was truly an event celebrating the best Filipino talents for a good cause.
The meaningful project was organized for the benefit of Tuloy Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization “that stands for excellence in the transformation of poor, abandoned, homeless, and ‘at risk’ children.”
Of Cherished Camaraderie
Your columnist had the wonderful honor of spending a fun dinner with my splendid group of friends, lovingly named the Party Gems. Held at topnotch bar The Cellar of Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, the intimate gathering was a coming together between lifelong friends from the business and social sectors. We all enjoyed inspiring conversations as well as the abundance of culinary masterpieces and vintage wines housed in the beloved five-star hotel.
