What words do you have for Manny Pacquiao?

Leonard Villa, Batac City: Congratulations Manny! By pulverizing Dela Hoya into submission, there’s no more doubt that you are the best boxer in the world. We are very proud of you. Cheers!

Col. Ben Paguirigan Jr., Ret., Zamboanga City: Vanquishing Dela Hoya further made us proud of you, but please don’t enter politics. It’s not your game and it will suffer the same fate as your first salvo.

You’re the best

Nito Aquino, Makati City: Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for that one-sided fight. Dela Hoya not only failed to pull the trigger, he couldn’t even find the gun.

Fortunato Aguirre, Bulacan: Manny, you are No.1 for me. It’s not Ali anymore, but you who are now the greatest. Congratulations! Mabuhay ka.

Erwin Espinosa, Pangasinan: Mabuhay ka, Manny Pacquiao, ang aming Pambansang Kamao. You’re superb. Your breed as a high-caliber boxer is rare.

Gerii Calupitan, Muntinlupa City: God bless you, Manny! My wife noticed that you always pray before and after each fight. Rosary beads hang around your neck. As I texted Inbox before: “Pacman will be remembered as the greatest Pinoy boxer of all time, money-wise or otherwise. Dela Hoya was lucky; $20 million is a lot of moolah. Mabuhay ka!

Rudy Tagimacruz, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon: It was unexpected of you, little Pinoy, to make a punching bag out of Oscar dela Hoya and force him to yield to an honorable TKO. You clearly could have blasted him.

Concepcion Gaspar, Laoag City: Speedy Manny is a boxer with indomitable fighting spirit. His religiosity, humility, confidence in himself, passion in this sport have made him an international celebrity.

Dennis Acop, Baguio City: The words I have for Manny Pacquiao is that he is the greatest, not Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, or Oscar dela Hoya, but Manny Pacquiao! The Pacman has once again made every Filipino anywhere on the planet proud of where they came from. And it is such a welcome feeling especially for us locals who have felt shame most of the time from our politics and poverty which are among the worst in the entire world. Even for yet another brief shining moment, the Pacman has united all Filipinos anywhere  something no president, senator, or congressman could ever do. I hope Manny does not join politics after his illustrious boxing career. Manny will be able to help other people more by staying out of politics instead of being in it. I agree with Freddie Roach who said that Manny should fight twice more at most perhaps against Hatton or Mayweather and then retire as the greatest boxer of all time.

Ruel Bautista, Laguna: Congrats! Your win justified the moniker “Mex-icutioner.” Ingat lang Manny, desperado na ang mga iyan, baka sa susunod, si Zorro na ilaban sa iyo!

Prayer is your greatest weapon

Roque Gahol, Davao City: Manny, you are the best. When you knelt at the corner to pray before and after the fight, I was really touched. It shows how prayerful you are.

Stay humble, Manny

Emeldinand Motas, Baguio City: I only want to say to Manny the he is the Filipinos’ pride so he should not be boastful when he comes over the Philippines. Dapat niya ‘yun pagtuunan ng pansin.

Rico Fabello, Parañaque City :Stay humble,Manny. Congratulations on your win. Continue being a low-profile kind of guy. God is good to people like you.

Carlito Pajaro, Metro Manila: Remain humble and always keep our country in mind each time you fight.

Pedro Alagano Sr., Vigan City: Manny, congrats and happy birthday in advance. Don’t allow your success and billions of pesos to get to your head. Stay humble and God bless.

Don Hernandez, Las Piñas City: Thank you, Manny, for retaining your compassion and humility despite all the accolades and riches you have received by being the undisputed best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. Your honesty and lack of artifice has endeared you to everyone and you are living proof that you don’t have to have a Ph.D. and speak impeccable English to become a class act.

Sahlee Reyes, Las Piñas City: Mabuhay ka, Manny Pacquiao. Remember to stay humble and be generous to our poor countrymen as your way of thanking God for His tremendous generosity. Be wise and discerning in your decisions for it can make or break you. We love you.

Debbie Genato, Quezon City: Manny, you are humble, compassionate and in all your fights you acknowledge the Lord. He fights for you and makes you victorious. Mabuhay ka, Manny. Give back all the glory to God. Once again you’ve proven your greatness as a fighter.

Rey Onate, Palayan City: Magaling, mahusay, mainam. Ang mga paa sana’y laging sa lupa nakatuntong at sa dakilang Lumikha ang pasasalamat laging nakatuon.

Dave Velasco, Marinduque: Congratulations, may humility be the center of your life! Set a good example for the youth of today and tomorrow.

You make us proud

Johann Lucas, Quezon City: Congrats, Manny. It’s tough to put into words what you’ve done for our nation simply by fighting your heart out. Always keep your feet on the ground. God bless you.

Esmie Olaes, Cavite City: Kudos to Manny Pacquiao for stopping Oscar de la Hoya. We were united on this happy occasion. Indeed, it was a mismatch.

Ryan Pahimulin, Rizal: I just can’t find the words to describe pride and happiness I felt over Pacman’s victory. I also like the girl who sang the national anthem.

Cris Rivera, Rizal: Don’t leave your world for another. Boxing is your world, your life. You can never be in two worlds, for you are what you are. Congratulations, champ!

R. Santos, Isabela: Marvelous! I switched to Oscar when he hired Dundee; I was wrong. Congrats, Manny!

Gerry del Cano, Muntinlupa City: Congratulations, Manny! You make our country and our people all over the world proud and victorious with your very convincing victory. Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

L.C. Fiel, Quezon City: Congratulations! You’ve done it again and this one is for the books. God bless you, Manny!

Nestor Buñag, Mandaluyong City: It was a mismatch alright, with you amazingly on the upper hand. It was a hell of a great fight, a big win for you and Roach. A surmounting pride for the country, Manny.

Rose Leobrera, Manila :Wala kang katulad Manny, as Morales has said. What more can I say but congratulations to the greatest boxer of all time.

Dino Monzon, Caloocan City: Manny, congratulations on your well-earned victory over Oscar de la Hoya. You’ve secured a place in Philippine sports next to “Flash” Elorde.

Felix Ramento, Manila: Congratulations, Manny. Thank you for giving your people and your country honor once again.

Marlone Ramirez, Dubai: As a noteworthy fighter, Manny Pacquiao embodies what most Filipinos are doing today: Going against the odds and not simply conforming to what the past dictates. Tunay kang Pambansang Kamao, Manny!

Regina Sionillo, Iloilo City: It’s a victorious celebration for all Filipino people. I’m very proud and thankful to Manny for winning.

Manny Cordeta, Marikina City: Congratulations to the Pambansang Kamao. Despite the odds, the “Pacman”, with his recent feat accomplished in a very dramatic fashion, all the more gave justice to his being tagged as a national icon, undoubtedly, one great unifying factor, regardless of creed, calling, political color or ideology. To the world’s best boxer pound-for-pound, I have this to say: Continue with your prayerful ways, most specifically, for your detractors and the skeptics. More importantly, remain humble and magnanimous, two virtues I’ve observed are innate in you. Godspeed!

Roach is a good tactician

E. Linsangan, Isabela :I do believe that Manny is a fast and strong puncher, but it helps that he had Roach on his side, who chooses over-the-hill opponents for a sure win.

Pound-for-pound king

Elnine Aujero, Iloilo City :Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, pound-for-pound king and legend, gifted with extraordinary skills, has achieved immortality in boxing.

William Gonzaga, Marikina City: The Pacquiao-dela Hoya dream match was a sweet affirmation of Pacquiao’s tag as the world’s best fighter pound for pound. For Dela Hoya, it’s the worst nightmare of his illustrious career forever tarnished by his humiliating loss despite his advantage in height, heft and bookers’ odds as well as most experts’ choice. Kudos to Pacquiao for another spectacular victory bringing honor and pride to all Filipinos!

June Deoferio, Cavite: Congratulations on your victory, Manny Pacquiao. You proved to be the best pound to pound boxer in the world.

Thank you, Manny

Jose Fabello Jr., Cagayan de Oro City: Manny, you have caused what the police and environmentalists wanted to happen but were nowhere near doing. Crime is down to almost zero and the air is less polluted with carbon emission as large numbers of vehicles are off the streets, roads and highways. The Philippines, somehow, is safer and cleaner, even for a few hours, each time you fight someone in the ring. Thank you.

Pinoy Navaro, Malabon City: You have made us proud once again, defying the odds. You were the underdog but you prevailed. You have just given us Filipinos around the globe an early Christmas gift. Manny, you are young, admired, adored and filthy rich while our country is old, a basket case and dirt poor. You inspire us. You make us proud. You are our Obama because you have captured our imagination just like Obama captured the imagination of the American people. You have in your hands the power to inspire change, which is what we need. Only a Manny Pacquiao can catalyze the process of change. Your love for our country is beyond reproach. You always say that your fights are for the glory of the Filipino people. We thank you for that. The Filipino people needs you. Not just the temporary respite from our woes everytime you defeat your opponent but for the pride and glory that we seek for our race as a people.

Steer clear of politics

Robert Young Jr., San Juan: Manny, I heard you are running for Congress; you should not. You will just be disillusioned when you discover what solons are doing. Your fair weather political friends just want to use your popularity for their own benefit. If you want to share your wealth with your fellow Filipinos, maybe you can put up sports complexes all over the country to train future boxers and athletes. You will find this more rewarding.

Lito Flores, Aklan: Congratulations, mabuhay ka Manny! But please huwag mong gamitin ang iyong kamao para sa mga corrupt na mga pulitiko.

Jim Veneracion, Naga City: Saludo ako sa iyo, Manny. If you’re thinking of politics after boxing, please don’t. Your hard-earned fortune might to go waste. Politics is full of leeches.

Pedro Roque, Cagayan de Oro City: Manny, please concentrate on boxing, billiards, cockfighting and basketball and forget politics.

Rey Ibalan, Antipolo City: The fame and the big bucks you earned in boxing will vanish if you enter the vicious world of gambling and politics.

Edwin Castillo, Tanauan City :To Manny Pacquiao: Don’t waste your time in politics. Instead why not help RP get its first Olympic gold in boxing at the 2012 London Olympics?

Billy Valero, Metro Manila: To Manny Pacquiao: You can be the best in the four-corner boxing arena, but in the hall (hell) of Congress, I doubt. Stay out of politics.

Elpidio Que, Vigan: With your hundreds of millions, Manny, stay humble, real humble, and don’t gamble on games of the table, cockpits or politics. Forget not where you came from, for he who knows not where he came from, knows not where he goes. P20 million to waldas would be better off donated to Gawad Kalinga for use in building homes. Yao Ming donated $3million to China earthquake victims with no fanfare.

Nato Bautista, Quezon City: Manny, you’re such a great boxer. You popularized boxing after the equally great Muhammad Ali. Entering politics? Don’t ever think of it. Just leave that dirty House to trapos. You will just be booed by your millions of fans if you do. You can always help the needy better even if you’re not in politics. Our congratulations for a job well done!

Ferdie Sabater, Las Piñas City: Boxing arena, stay, political arena, stay out! Congratulations! Advance happy birthday! Pa-burger naman diyan.

Jun Cajucom, Tacloban City: Congrats, like what Erik says in that SMB ad, talagang wala kang katulad, Manny. Just stay away from politics.

Leandro Tolentino, Batangas City: Congrats to the greatest Filipino boxer of all time. You are truly a role model for the youth both here and abroad, so please don’t go into politics.

Get ready for Hatton

Manuel Abejero, Pangasinan: Congrats for demolishing the last Mexican man standing. Get ready for the next million-euro fight. Hatton is itching to taste your fist.

Small but terrible

Gina Cortez, Cavite: I told you, Manny is destined to win. He not only proved and strengthened the fact na walang malaking nakakapuwing (size doesn’t matter; small but terrible) but he also personified the modern-day David and justified the incredible victory of the little boy over giant Goliath. This is one for the books!  Imee Aglibot, Rizal

Congrats Manny. It’s a win you really deserve. You showed the world that height doesn’t matter. It’s determination that matters. You really fight with a big heart. Every inch a Filipino.

Serve the people if you must

Germi Sison, Cabanatuan City: Manny Pacquiao is so bent on giving his best in serving his suffering people that he finds politics as the best venue to accomplish his mission. However, he must realize that an executive position is better for him than a legislative one. Mayor Alfredo Lim, a lawyer, a veteran public servant and an experienced politician, found his three-year stint at the Senate disappointing. Now, again as Mayor of Manila, he is enjoying more and serving his constituents better. Manny will improve his skill in public service if he finishes his course in public administration that is concentrated on public governance. Who knows, if he becomes a good mayor or governor, he might also become a good president. Good luck, Manny, in your dream to serve your people without punching.

I.Q. Calata, Parañaque City: Congratulations, Manny. You are now in the circle of current world champions and big names in the sports world who have made themselves super rich and famous. After a possible match with the Manchester fighter, Ricky Hatton, it may be time to call it quits and retire a champion. Don’t allow your name, fame and fortune to be tainted and wasted like many sportsmen in the past who indulged in wanton wasteful activities, becoming paupers in the end. Now, if you have that burning ambition to go into politics later, go right ahead. It’s your right. But be very careful.

Good wishes for Manny

Joe Nacilla, Las Piñas City: What I can say to Manny Pacquiao is: I wish him 12 months of happiness, 52 weeks of fun, 365 days of success, 8,760 hours of good health, 525,600 minutes of blessings and 31,536,000 seconds of joy. May he have the wisdom of Solomon, the commitment of Jacob, the courage of Joshua, the dreamer spirit of Joseph, the faithfulness of David and the Ass of Goliath.

Put your newfound wealth to good use

C.K. Yeo, Iloilo City: You are coming home with over one billion pesos. Maybe you can put your newfound wealth into better use by building schools, clinics and sports complexes in South Cotabato and other nearby provinces. Remember the old Chinese adage, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime.”

C.B. Manalastas, Manila: Save for the rainy days, avoid gambling, politics and fair weather friends, remain humble and retire after fighting Hatton for you are a great fighter.
