The new moon is in Virgo, along with such heavy hitters as Jupiter and Mars (not to make light of Virgo’s guiding planet, Mercury, in the sign of helpful improvements, too). The new moon always signifies a perfect start date for new ventures, but this one is particularly stellar, as you’ve got gumption, good intentions and common sense.

ARIES (March 21-April 19).
You’re enthusiastic about your work, and it gains momentum because of this excitement. Avoid the tendency to back off right when something good happens. Your wit and dry humor attract love like crazy.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
Stars highlight the more easygoing facets of your personality. You’re surrounded by people who let you be you, so it’s easy for you to return the favor by tolerating the eccentricities of others. Let your hair down tonight.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
You’ve got the gift of economy. Much can be done with very little effort when you have a solid plan. If there are no instructions for the task you face, modeling yourself after one you admire is the easiest way to stay on track.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
You may feel unproductive, but don’t think for a second that it’s true. Consider broadening your definition of work to include all that needs doing by you. It will help you to feel proud of yourself (instead of frustrated) at day’s end.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
Though you’re bigger-than-life response to events is part of your Leo charm, it’s important not to overreact. Losing your cool is off-putting, whereas keeping it shows you’re capable of handling great responsibility (and great reward).

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (September 14).
You’ve got your mojo turned up this year. You capture the hearts of people who want to pay you more, romance you and make your way easy. Your sense of fairness drives you to better relationships this month, contributing to your good financial fortune in October. Travel in November. Heart connections are with Libra or Sagittarius. Your lucky numbers are: 30, 2, 11, 49 and 16.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
Your actions reflect your values, and your values dictate your actions. Make sure you’re spending time on tasks that correctly represent your priorities. People who call you only when they need you are not true friends.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).
Your relationships and emotional life take most of the focus – in fact, it’s hard to concentrate on anything else. It appears you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, but another person looking at your situation would say, "Sweet."

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).
You’ll be bumping into friendly, interesting people everywhere you go – you’ll learn something valuable from the person sitting in the seat next to you. Use your psychic sense to invest. The logical choice is not the winning one.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
You’re attractive but may you wish you weren’t. The all-encompassing love of a partner overwhelms you or makes you want to flee. The more independence you exert, the more someone wants to get closer to you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
You are ready to raise the stakes in a relationship – put more of your heart (and your lifestyle) on the line. Singles could ask the question that makes their palms sweat. Couples could intertwine their lives further.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
Just relax. If you are anxious, you won’t be able to react quickly. As the martial arts teach, it is the force of speed, not muscle, that allows a relatively slight person to break through a concrete slab.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
You must remain positive to keep the team going. But being positive can mean identifying potential trouble sources so you can steer clear. Don’t be afraid to speak up if you’re the only one who sees a possible problem ahead.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"I’m a Cancer woman born July 19, 1980. I’ve been with a Taurus man for one year and three months. I really am in love with him and want to get married to him, but since I’ve known him, he hasn’t held a job for more than a month. I’ve talked to him about this several times, but he gives me the same excuse – the job market where he lives is not looking good. By the way, he lives in Canada, and I live in the United States. Eventually when we marry, I’ll live in Canada, too. I’m worried about relocating and about our future financial situation. Is he telling me the truth about the job market, or is this an excuse not to work?"

I looked at your charts, and I’m having trouble seeing this relationship as something real. You haven’t spent much time together in the flesh, and I believe that you’re more in love with the idea of this man and his pretty words than with the reality of him. My suggestion is to invite him to stay with you for a few months in the States. Since he’s not working, this shouldn’t be much of a problem. If he’s not willing to come, his unemployment is not the real reason your relationship isn’t going to the next level.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Jean Smart is the voice of Dr. Possible on the hit Nickelodeon series "Kim Possible." She also stars in the new sitcom "Center of the Universe" with John Goodman. I predict this actress will become better known this year as the stars favor Virgo professionals with public acceptance in the next three months. During this time, Virgo women should make a special effort to be seen.
