Horoscope

January 14, 2003

- Joyce Jillson -
The Capricorn sun and Mercury are still helping you figure out the power structure in place at work. Meetings are a success if you listen more than you speak. Be strict with guidelines and regulations, as they are likely to be enforced to the letter. Be especially attentive to small details and innuendo, as someone is trying to give you a hint.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. You’ll have access to everyone you meet today without trying. Play it cool. Focus on the enjoyment of connecting in the present, and don’t worry about exchanging numbers. Let someone else do the searching.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
The lull of distant shores is strong, but it seems there is nothing but work and commitment in sight. You loyally hop from responsibility to obligation. Meet unreasonable demands with humor. Look for passion in the evening.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
Your extraordinary style allows you to communicate and impress. Do what needs to be done, and you’re swiftly rewarded. Laughter is a healing tonic. Let down your hair and play, and be sure to include your kids.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
Idiosyncrasies attract interest. Don’t hide what’s unique about you. You’ll be tempted to cancel plans and wile away the hours with a sweetheart – not a bad idea! Investments of time are luckier than investments of cash.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
Hard work is necessary for quite a while; be patient. Take care of your health. Settle matters from the past that have been on your mind for too long. Excessive purchasing or promising is a danger.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (January 14).
You are driven to succeed this year, and succeed you will. Love is thrilling, especially for singles who meet someone new in the next four weeks. Couples articulate needs better and therefore are more satisfied. Educational ventures are positive, life-changing forces in the next six months. Powerful signs for love are Taurus and Virgo. Your lucky numbers are: 2, 20, 34, 11 and 4.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
Let your work speak for itself, and sit back and enjoy the response. Financial needs will be met, so have more faith. You’re in the driver’s seat when it comes to romance. Enjoy your power.

LIBRA (Sept.23-Oct.23).
Respond promptly to romantic hopefuls – it’s the only right thing to do. Tonight will be low key. Pay bills, and balance your checkbook, with an eye to possible mistakes. A loved one’s presence is soothing.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).
A goal with no completion date attached to its may go unfulfilled for a long period. Deadlines promote creativity. Repairs to the homestead or car are unavoidable. The solution to a financial problem comes from an unusual source.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
There are many ways to express yourself that you haven’t even begun to explore. You’ve got real talent. While others make bad snap decisions, you need to take your time. Rumors aren’t reliable.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
Comparing yourself to others only makes you feel less powerful than you really are. Compete with yourself, and you’ll tap into your true potential. This evening brings a chance to tell the world what needs changing!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
A minor setback will be a major motivator. Success in love depends on how well you are able to communicate your true self. A quality you admired in others will be yours – practice makes perfect.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
Why waste your energy? Stall a project until you can get more specific directions from higher-ups. Extra care with your appearance is paying off. Someone new finds you mysterious and attractive.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"You mentioned an ephemeris in your column a couple of months ago. Where can I find one? What books do you recommend for those interested in learning astrology? I’ve read a number of astrological columns over the years but continue to hut down yours because they always apply most closely to me!"

Thank you! You are wise to realize that if you want to examine specific aspects of your life, knowing how to use the ephemeris is a way to get down to business! I use it to find lucky dates for the future as well as to look up the birthdays of people I come into contract with and get extra insight about how we might be able to help one another. Some ephemeral tables are free online. Use a search engine to look up "ephemeris," and you’ll find several. If you prefer a book, you can buy an ephemeris that covers an entire century. Go to a bookstore that specializes in New Age or metaphysical type reading. If there isn’t one near you, try the larger bookstores online. There are yearly ephemeral about how to read and interpret the aspects happening on any given day.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Cuba Gooding Jr. is going through a powerful career cycle in which much of last year’s work will come to the public eye in 2003 and allow him to ask for salaries in 2003 that far surpass what he’s asked for before. Capricorn men, take note: You tend to judge yourself by your salary, but there are many other factors that add up to a satisfying career. Broaden your definition of success.
