Horoscope

March 18, 2002

- Joyce Jillson -
During the last few days of the Pisces sun’s rule, it’s important to be grateful for the lessons you’ve learned in the last few weeks. Acknowledging the person you are now, compared to who you were before, will show you how much you’ve grown. Take some of the credit, and give some to those who taught you well. Love is on your side.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. You deserve to be paid more. Speak up to authority figures. Fast action will save an account you almost lost. There’s a chance to initiate the love relationship of your dreams. Just make sure you attend important social functions.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
. A peaceful settlement to a longtime conflict will soon come your way. There are unseen benefits to renewing a forgotten friendship. A disarming salesperson could talk you into making a transaction that’s too costly for you, so be strong.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
. Pursue an alluring stranger you’ve had your eye on for the past few days. A loyal friend may turn his or her back on you when you need support. Be careful not to be too dependent on others. A child will ask for your help tonight.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
You have a deeper awareness of what is truly valuable to you. Money you saved over the years will come in handy soon. Sharpen your observational skills so you won’t miss the opportunity to advance today. Heal a wound.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
. Your final attempt to get in touch with a former love partner may succeed. A small gesture of support toward your work team will start the wheels rolling. Use your extraordinary influence tonight to keep kids on the straight and narrow path.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 18)
. Luck and romance will always be with you this year if you choose to embrace them. Career vibes will be strong within the next five weeks. Follow your dreams. Relationships will heat up, and you could even marry a Scorpio or Leo. Bring your personal goals into focus in June. By July, you’ll have gathered the funds to make a big investment or start your own business. Your lucky numbers are: 10, 3, 6, 17 and 40.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
. Bone up on unused skills; you are far more talented than you give yourself credit for. Savings in one area allows for extravagance in another. Change your social plans, and increase the probability of bumping into someone very exciting.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)
. You’ll feel flushed when a payback is finally made. Surprise your mate or someone you are interested in with a sweet gesture. Trivial information will help you prove a point. Your knowledge in pop culture could actually get you a date.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. If you can state your case without making an enemy, you’ll gain social clout. It’s a good day not to buy what you can borrow – go to the library or local video store. Overcome romantic shyness by getting to know someone fascinating.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
If you can’t tell the difference between linear and residual income, this is the perfect time to find out. Make sure you have more of the latter! Your idealistic beliefs may get a "reality check." Clip coupons before shopping.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
. Freedom of thought and expression is one thing you should fight for. Higher-ups will give you credit that’s long overdue. There’s hidden value in something you have at home; look around and you’ll find it. Appreciate your loved ones.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
. References are more impressive than experience, so remember the people who believe in you, and give them a good reason to keep the faith. Let your voice mail pick up phone calls while you finish what you’ve started.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)
. If you don’t make a pitch, you can’t make the sale. Smooth out your sales tactics tonight. Time alone is the path to peace of mind. A lunch meeting and team effort take priority in the afternoon. Get ready to act as head coach.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
This is the continuation from last week’s astrological question, which came from the eighth-grade class of Nativity Catholic School in Torrance, Calif.: "How do you come up with the horoscopes? Do you guess?"

After I read the ephemeris, which charts how the planets, sun and moon move through the universe, I combine my studies about what these transits have meant to astrologers for hundreds of years with my current interpretation of these transits for today. I then take into consideration the nature of each of the 12 signs as I look at how they might be affected by the emotions and activities highlighted by what the stars are currently doing. Also, I look at how the stars are aspecting (making angles to) their particular realm of the sky. I simply try to understand the concerns, dreams and issues that each sign possesses that day. I’ll give answers, encouragement and tips to help people deal with the obstacles and treats I believe the day is going to bring. I exercise my psychic abilities regularly, like a body builder when he or she lifts weights. Therefore, I strengthen my psychic "muscles" every day.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Independent filmmaker Neil LaBute ("In the Company of Men" and "Your Friends and Neighbors") paints characters that are often horrible to watch as they represent the most cruel aspects of seemingly normal people. It’s a very Piscean trait to embrace the negative and positive aspects of being human. See fellow Pisces filmmaker David Cronenberg as another example of this disturbing artistic wisdom.
