You know better than to commit yourself when you feel as bold as you do now. You could take off on a road trip, but then, where would you be in regard to what you said you’d do this weekend? ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: The eighth grade class of Nativity Catholic School in Torrance, California, asks, "How do you come up with the horoscopes? Do you guess?"

Great questions! First, I find out where the starts are in relation to one another as we see them from earth. This is done through the use of a scientific book of data called an ephemeris. It charts how the planets, sun and moon move through the universe. Then, I look for significant transits. Transit is a word the means movement. Through studying astrology for many years, I’ve learned the meanings of many transits. These meanings are both ancient and modern. They are based on interpretations that are thousands of years old, but they are also based on new ones. Everyone has their own interpretation of astrology, but there are some widely held beliefs on which most astrologers base their predictions. For example, when the moon is full, an emotional release usually occurs. Everyone gets in touch with the more impulsive and wild wide of themselves. As a result, things get more chaotic than when the moon is new. Next Monday, I will explain further how I come up with horoscopes, so stay tuned.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Rap’s first lady, Queen Latifah, is a provocative Pisces who wasn’t satisfied sitting back and watching her male counterparts disrespect women in their music. She wanted them to be accountable to the misogynist statements perpetuated in their rap songs. Pisces is a highly sensitive creature who doesn’t take pop culture lightly, but sees it as an opportunity to change the way people think and move them to action.
