Horoscope

May 20, 2001

- Joyce Jillson -
The last days and rays of the Taurus sun are upon us, giving one last chance to revive and replenish financial goals. Investments can be recouped, at least partially, and new financial instruments help you ride this rocky market. People are somewhat resistant to new ideas, so couch suggestions in ways that are realistic, not shocking. Make commitments.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. Today is all about keeping, multiplying and restoring assets. Legal matters, negotiations and even open confrontations prove fortunate for you. Let colleagues in on your plans, otherwise, they’ll fight you unnecessarily.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
. You bridge the gap between generations or between warring partners. Your words heal old and new wounds. You’ll receive money from a small business you and a friend started two years ago. Compliment your spouse tonight.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
. Others agree to your wishes, so show your leadership skills. Your words carry weight. Clients, bosses and teachers like what you present. Your need for a challenge may undermine a relationship that is sound. Seek excitement.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
You’ve let a long-lost dream incorrectly influence everything you’ve done for the past year – is was and is totally unrealistic. If you knew the true story, you’d realize how lucky you are. Spend time creating a new project.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
. Get out and force yourself to meet new people this week. Seize the opportunity to show off your talents or teach others. Don’t let your pride keep you from having a fun-filled life. You have luck with fitness programs that bring fast results.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 20)
. The Taurus sun wipes the slate clean, and obligations and financial concerns will evaporate between now and July, paving the pathway for full-blown success. A job offer in May lets you get ahead. In September, a huge career shift will put you in business for yourself. Reconciliations in August are permanent. You’ll experience new love in October with a Leo. Your lucky numbers are: 2, 15, 17, 23 and 39.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
. A current problem is actually the key to your new wealth. This situation seems to cause unhappiness, but if forces you to use talents that end up impressing just about everyone. Tackle a family issue this evening. Relatives will open up.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)
. Face the fact that someone you’ve made the centerpiece of your life is drifting away. This doesn’t reflect poorly on you at all. Focus on developing deeper friendships and letting others know you’re available. You’ll meet new friends soon.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. Be precise about what you want. Others are not as careful as you are, and they may do sloppy work. Let a companion know your financial limitations, and don’t buy more than you can afford. Your landlord finally agrees to help you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
You thrive when you are performing many tasks at once. The more projects you have, the better. Consider delegating some duties, and don’t be afraid to turn down undesirable invitations. Say "no" to pur yourself in demand.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
. Have some fun this week. A bit of recreation is in store to get your creative juices flowing again. Love is in the air, although someone that’s already in the picture maybe best for you. Consult relatives regarding a financial decision.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
. Others take your words seriously and to heart, so be careful of what you say. A last-minute decision to travel will turn your life around, but it may anger a pal. Go anyway, and don’t let controlling people stop you. Play the matchmaker.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
Because of a recent setback, you are shy about making another big business move. Don’t be; you’ve learned a lot, and the tide has turned in your favor. A pal from your college days suddenly reappears on the scene to guide you.

FORECAST OF THE WEEK AHEAD:
The week starts with the Taurus moon looming overhead, bringing focus and clarity to financial matters. Getting money matters out into the open is fortunate and eases overall stress. The sun segues into Gemini late on Monday, when there will be an influx of artistic interest. People will seek out the most modern, cutting-edge art and theater. Popular music, within the next three weeks, will startle the audience as much as entertain them. Look for new hit artists to be born under the sign of Gemini or Sagittarius. Midweek, the atmosphere goes from innovation to production. The new moon on Wednesday, in the sign of Gemini, will give all living creatures a burst of adrenaline, making this the ideal day of the week to launch new, important ventures. Sending out resumes, invitations, notices and press releases on this day will result in special success. On Friday, people become more concerned about personal matters. Business, no matter how important, will come second. On Friday, high school seniors who are waiting to hear from colleges will receive great news of acceptance and scholarships. The weekend is ripe for reconciliation and family reunions. Warring relatives will finally come together over mutual interests. In love, singles are most likely to meet a partner out of town.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Actor/director Tony Goldwyn has the Taurus determination to make an impact on the hard-to-enter Hollywood hierarchy. With his acting credits ranging from the HBO special "From the Earth to the Moon" to the movie "Bounce," he is now gaining enormous respect for directing the movie "Someone Like You." His hart still remains in performing, and in the upcoming six months, look for him to get a high-profile movie role that makes him defer his directing career for the next year.
