Horoscope - January 15, 2001

- Joyce Jillson -
The Pisces moon atmosphere is sensitive, introspective, and a little moody, too. The lunar aspect to our planet of hard lessons, Saturn, could have us reviewing past decisions and possibly wondering how life could have been different had we made different choices. Try to accept choices made in the past. Regret gets us nowhere.

ARIES
(March 21-April 19). Opposites attract, making learning experiences possible. Refuse to be put on the defensive. Bargains can be found out of town. Appeal to others for cooperation. Show that you have staying power on the social scene.

TAURUS
(April 20-May 20). Make yourself available for extra responsibility. Be frugal until the contract is signed and the deal is confirmed. An activity you’ve dabbled in has moneymaking potential. Work on your appearance, self-confidence and sex appeal.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21). You can afford to indulge now. A touchy situation requires patience and waiting period. Focus on faraway destinations and correspondence. Show that your aspirations are serious. A previously rejected application is now accepted.

CANCER
(June 22-July 22). Be yourself at social function. An older male is sincere in his desire to help you. Be critical and analytical when hiring or making important decisions. Present yourself with more energy, motivation and confidence.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 22). A financial bonus makes a purchase possible. Once you complete a creative or educational project, you are ready to begin a search for employment. You could develop a crush on someone younger.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (January 15).
You rise to the occasion this year, and are prepared for anything. Finances take a turn for the better this month. Unique talents give you the advantage over romantic competition, too – remain confident, and love stays with you all year. Be receptive to the suggestions of unconventional sources in December – brilliant ideas are hatched through open minds. Your lucky numbers are: 3, 11, 51, 24 and 10.

VIRGO
(Aug. 23-Sept. 22). There are no easy answers, but with a little hard work, you are way ahead of the game. Truth is distorted by word-of-mouth. Prove your point to an opponent this afternoon. A lover devotes his or her spare moments to you.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Contribute to a friendship with a distant pal; it keeps you grounded. A romantic interest’s compliments are sincere. An age difference is unimportant to a relationship; go with your gut feeling.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Close friends offer true love and support. Meet a financial obligation this afternoon or you could provoke someone’s anger. A change of personnel smooths out office dynamics.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21). On the romantic front, there are exceptions to every rule. Social activities could be fruitless; it is better to volunteer for a good cause. This will put you in contact with fantastic connections.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Let work open you up to new worlds of change, even though it’s easier to fall into the same old routine. Family may be hard to handle, but they’re behind you when the chips are down. Tonight, let a friend help you with the details.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Go at your own pace, whether or not you are keeping up with friends. If you get on the good side of a boss this afternoon, you’ll win all month. Call colleagues from past jobs for contacts, especially Taurus and Virgo.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20). People from your past can bring money into your future. At work, the walls have eyes and ears, so don’t let secrets slip. Travel for business may interfere with family plans, however, time is on your side.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"Can someone born March 1, 1961, be a super star? Is it too late to be an actor?"

First, don’t give anyone more power than you have when it comes to determining your destiny. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams, thought making it in Hollywood could require more stamina, faith, hard work and talent than many other choices. Look seriously at what you are willing to do to make these dreams become reality, and let that dictate your pursuit. That said, Pisces is a wonderful sign for actors because they can easily wear the persona of others. They come from a wider base of compassion for the human condition than most people, and often use their psychic perception to capture the concept of "just being" the character. Pisces is the one sign which is the summation of all the other 11 proceedings signs. That’s why Pisceans are so spiritual – they really have the ability to see things from another’s point of view. Being happy in a day job (at least part time) will make you feel at ease, and help you work toward honing your craft.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Elisabeth Shue will have audiences cheering this year as heroic moves are in the stars for her. She’s a Libra with love planet Venus also in Libra. This is the sign of natural partnership, and Libras are easy to fall in love with and even easier to live with. They don’t believe in being too heavy, but paradoxically they are drawn to profound art and passionate love. Shue could take some time off work to have another child this year.
