Horoscope - December 24, 2000

- Joyce Jillson -
The Sagittarian sun’s solar vibes contribute to the restless energy that’s building toward the full moon in Gemini tomorrow. Nail those holiday plans now, especially if travel arrangements haven’t been made yet. With Mars in Libra, long-standing family feuds are put to rest, or are too much trouble to take up again, which makes event-planning simple.

ARIES
(March 21-April 19). Creative ideas can powerfully affect relationships. Use ingenuity in love instead of concentrating solely on your career. Couples who have been tempted to fall off the path of faithfulness may rediscover the priorities of home and family.

TAURUS
(April 20-May 20). Enjoy the fun of winning, as your competitive drive is high, and luck is with you. Fellow earth signs, Virgo and Capricorn, warm up to you. A change of scenery helps your romance move along tonight. Avoid binding agreements.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21). It’s a lucky day for freeing yourself of emotional leeches. Couples walk in their partner’s shoes; new respect is born. Sensible nature plays tug-of-war with your passion in the evening. One side of your creativity completely takes over.

CANCER
(June 22-July 22). Ask for exactly what you want. Plans go more smoothly when you are in charge, but you’ll have to convince others this is true. Move closer to a new love; the distance is a discouragement. You provide reassurance but need it, too.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 22). If there is anything left unsaid, set things straight. You’ll get satisfaction from putting closing touches on creative ventures. Aries and Leo are dream mates. Spoil others, and you are on their list next week! Reciprocity will be a godsend!

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (December 24).
You no longer work for the approval of others; your independence shows the world you deserve more! Reclaim self-confidence. A financial coup in the late winter only happens when you adhere to a solid plan without falter. Travel in January will begin a personal trend. Your best signs for love this year are Libra and Scorpio. Your marriage month is May. Your lucky numbers are: 6, 32, 16, 40 and 7.

VIRGO
(Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Brisk and deliberate action earns the respect of someone who’s hard to win over. Children will make you proud if you let them tackle their own problems. Tonight is lucky for settling disputes, especially romantic ones.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Take in initiative at a family gathering. You don’t have time for others to be moody or throw tantrums. Today’s rule of diplomacy: Cater to obvious needs of others, and prevent more complex issues from surfacing and/or forming.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Willpower is waning; reinspire yourself by hanging out with winners. You could become instantly infatuated, but tomorrow the spell will be broken. Singles make better connections by playing it low-key. Finish an overdue task.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21). A momentary lapse into your creative energy delays a project; a change of scenery brings life back to it. It’s harder to say "no" than "yes," but you’ll get the strength when you decide that doing so will lead to long-term benefits.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Others will see you in a new light, thanks to some risk-taking on your part. Seize an opportunity that springs from this new perception. Look for a chance to showcase your talent – a determined Scorpio or an insightful Libra can help.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Establish boundaries with family members, especially with children. Don’t make anymore excuses in your relationship; steady strides are made toward intimacy. Artists and students have plenty of fuel for works of brilliance.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20). Don’t say "later" when you can say "now." Production increases because you have a new commitment to make things happen for yourself. A partner finds you more attractive when you are happier with your work environment.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
Plans come together to make the season bright. Since the Sagittarian sun and Gemini moon are such high energy performers, everyone pulls their weight, and motivating the group isn’t a problem at all. Get travel plans solidified early in the week as the full moon in Gemini on Monday shows you the final good deals of the season. Tensions that have been building will be released on Monday, and getting information from friends and help from relatives is also favored. Venus and Jupiter will form a lucky trine, too, keeping romance fueled with exciting energy. Mercury and Pluto conjoin to give us the option of talking about feelings we’ve hidden away – or were unaware of in the past. Tuesday, our lady of romance, Venus, will conjunct with Neptune, the dream weaver. Fantasies will be enacted, and secret desires for the future will be shared. The more you can enroll partners in your special vision for the future, the more likely you are to create this terrific fantasy in the real world. Thursday brings more dramatic enactment as the Leo moon encourages us to be big, bold and creative. The Sagittarian sun/Leo moon are two fire-sign influences that make it difficult for us not to do our best and gain motivation.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Sagittarius is the sign of several new millennium supermodels such as Bridget Hall. Since natives are known for their love of travel and Sagittarius is also considered one of the luckiest signs of the zodiac (ruled by Jupiter, the good-fortune planet), the fact that there are so many successful models of this sign follows logic. Hall could diversify her career this year by singing an international record.
