At 4 p.m. yesterday, the center of tropical depression “Dante” was estimated at 20 kms east of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.

Almost stationary, “Dante” is expected to be at 30 kms east of Virac this afternoon.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is hoisted over Camarines Sur and Norte, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate (including Burias Island), southern Quezon and Northern Samar, which will have rains and gusty winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of southern Luzon and eastern and western Visayas will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, while eastern Luzon, the rest of the Visayas and northern Mindanao will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be cloudy to partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Coastal waters in northern, central, western and the rest of eastern Luzon will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.

Temperature forecasts: Metro Manila, 23-33 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 15-24; Tagaytay City, 22-27; Subic and Clark zone, 22-31; Metro Cebu, 25-32; Metro Davao, 25-33; and Cagayan de Oro, 23-33.

Tidal predictions in Manila Bay: high tide at 4:26 p.m. at 0.96 meter; low tide at 12:16 a.m. at 0.10 meter. Sunrise is at 5:33 a.m.; sunset at 6:13 p.m.
