At 2 am today, a shallow low pressure area (SLPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 490 kms East of Northern Luzon (17.3°N 127.4°E) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.
