Typhoon "Glenda" was estimated at 4 p.m. yesterday at 450 kms east-southeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 15 kph. The southwest monsoon affects Luzon and the Visayas.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have rains and gusty winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The western sections of Luzon and the Visayas will have occasional monsoon rains.

The rest of Luzon will be cloudy with rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 is hoisted in northern Cagayan, including the Calayan and Batanes groups of islands, which will have winds of 61-100 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is hoisted in Isabela, Kalinga, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte and the rest of Cagayan, which will have winds of 30-60 kph.

Coastal waters in the western sections of Luzon and the Visayas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.
