Tropical storm "Florita" was estimated at 4 p.m. yesterday at 370 kms north-northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 140 kph. It is forecast to move northwest at 15 kph. The southwest monsoon affects Luzon and Western Visayas.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 3 is hoisted in the Batanes and Calayan groups of islands, which will have winds of 101-185 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 is in effect in northern Cagayan, Apayao and Ilocos Norte, which will have winds of 61-100 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is hoisted in the rest of Cagayan, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Benguet, La Union and Pangasinan, which will have winds of 30-60 kph.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have stormy weather and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience monsoon rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
