Tropical storm "Igme" was tracked moving away from the country yesterday but is expected to continue enhancing the southwest monsoon and bring occasional rains and moderate to strong winds over western Luzon and extreme Northern Luzon, particularly over the Batanes and Calayan groups of islands.

At 2 p.m. yesterday, "Igme" was located at 500 kms north-northwest of Basco, Batanes or in the vicinity of Taipei, Taiwan with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move north at 11 kph.

"Igme" is expected to be 640 kms north-northwest of Basco or 160 kms north of Taipei this morning.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevails across Luzon. Extreme Northern Luzon and western Luzon will have occasional rains and occasional gusty winds, and moderate to occasionally rough seas.

Central Luzon and the rest of Northern Luzon will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in the rest of Luzon will be moderate to occasionally rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.
