MANILA, Philippines — Kinumpirma ni House Prosecutor at Manila representative Joel Chua na pinal nang tinanggal ng House prosecution panel ang alegasyon ng bribery o Article III laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte sa nagpapatuloy na impeachment trial.

Ayon kay Chua, naniniwala ang prosekusyon na sapat na ang mga ebidensyang nailatag sa natitirang tatlong articles of impeachment kabilang ang usapin sa unexplained wealth para patunayan ang kaso laban sa Bise Presidente.

Layunin din ng hakbang na i-streamline o pabilisin ang paglilitis sa Senado upang matapos ito sa loob ng taon at maiwasang umabot pa sa holiday season o sa susunod na taon, lalo na’t inaasahang pagtutuunan ng Senado ang pambansang pondo.

Si VP Duterte ay nililitis sa culpable violation sa Saligang Batas, betrayal of public trust sa umano’y panunuhol sa mga opisyal ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa panahon ng panunungkulan nito sa ahensya bilang Kalihim mula 2022 hanggang 2024.

Una nang iprinisinta ng prosecution team ang Article IV grave threats ni VP Duterte sa umano’y pag-hire nito ng assassin upang paslangin sina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong “ Macos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos at dating Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez; Article 1 confidential fund kaugnay ng umano’y irregularidad sa paggasta sa P612.5 milyong confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at ng DepEd.
