Habang namamahagi ng fuel subsidy

MANILA, Philippines — Isang barko ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ang sumadsad sa Hasa-Hasa Shoal sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) habang namamahagi ng fuel subsidy sa mga mangingisda sa lugar.

Ayon kay Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Spokesperson Rear Admiral Jay Tarriela, kaagad ring na-refloat ang BRP Datu Magat Salamat sa tulong ng BRP Malabrigo na idineploy ng PCG.

“Yesterday morning, while approaching a group of Filipino fishing vessels to position herself for the distribution of fuel to some 15 to 20 fishing boats, the vessel ran aground in the shallow waters of the shoal,” ani Tarriela.

“The fishing boats immediately attempted to assist and provided initial towing assistance, but the effort was unsuccessful due to the morning low tide and their limited pulling power,” dagdag pa nito.
