Lolypop, Cutie, Girlie post perfect House attendance
CEBU, Philippines — Three Cebu lawmakers were among the 98 members of the House of Representatives who recorded perfect attendance during the first regular session of the 20th Congress.
They are Mandaue City Lone District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon, Cebu City North District Rep. Rachel “Cutie” del Mar, and Malasakit@Bayanihan Party-list Rep. Girlie E. Veloso.
Ouano-Dizon highlighted her commitment to attending the regular sessions despite having to travel from Cebu to Manila every week.
“Commitment matters,” Ouano-Dizon said in a Facebook post.
“Matag semana, molupad gyud ta gikan sa Sugbo paingon sa kaulohan aron motambong sa mga regular sessions sa House of Representatives,” she said, noting that public service is not merely a job but a responsibility to the people of Mandaue.
She also congratulated Del Mar and Veloso for their perfect attendance.
Veloso, meanwhile, posted: “No absences during the First Regular Session of the 20th Congress. Patuloy lang sa trabaho at serbisyo.”
Del Mar has yet to issue a statement on her perfect attendance.
However, her cousin, Honorary Consul General of Greece in Cebu Michael Acebedo Lopez shared and reposted a post noting that the Cebu City North congresswoman had perfect attendance during the first regular session.
According to the post, Del Mar also voted against the impeachment proceedings twice—in 2025 and 2026—and did not vote for Martin Romualdez as House Speaker last year.
It also noted that Del Mar has maintained a perfect attendance record in previous Congresses she served in, with no recorded absence as a congresswoman.
The post compared her record with that of her father, former Cebu City North District congressman Raul del Mar, who was also known for maintaining perfect attendance during his nearly three decades in Congress.
Meanwhile, Veloso has also been active in filing legislative measures.
On August 25, she filed three measures focusing on preventive health, easing regulatory requirements for professionals, and climate justice.
House Bill 10947, or the PH CARES Act, seeks to establish a Preventive Health Call-And-Recall Engagement System that would proactively identify, contact and follow up Filipinos who are due for preventive healthcare services, including immunization, health screening and early disease detection.
House Bill 10948 proposes to extend the validity of Professional Identification Cards issued by the Professional Regulation Commission from three years to five years.
The measure aims to reduce the costs, travel and processing requirements associated with repeated renewals while maintaining professional regulation. It is the House counterpart of a similar proposal filed by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Veloso also filed House Resolution 1391, a climate justice resolution commending Atty. Nicole Ann T. Ponce for her international climate justice advocacy.
The resolution also supports the continued operationalization of the International Court of Justice’s 2025 climate advisory opinion, consistent with United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/80/263, to help strengthen Philippine climate policy and action.
“These measures have one common direction, that is, to make government work better for the people by reaching people to prevent the preventable in health, removing unnecessary burdens from our professionals, and turning climate commitments into real protection for Filipino communities,” Veloso said.
The three Cebu representatives’ perfect attendance places them among the lawmakers who did not miss any session during the first regular session of the 20th Congress. — (FREEMAN)
