MANILA, Philippines — Following the success of Pokemon’s first Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game, Pokemon Pokopia, more towns are set to be unveiled with the game’s expansion passes.

Earlier this month, the game’s first expansion pass, called the Bubbly Basin, was released, where players could explore the Bubbly Basin.

There, if a player uses the new move “Dive,” they could go below the waves and explore the underwater town.

Aside from this, additional Pokemon and furniture are part of the Bubbly Basin paid downloadable content.

It is Part 1 of three DLCs, with another set to be released by wintertime of this year.

The second update will feature more accessories, Pokemon and furniture.

Next year, Part 3 will feature another new town, as well as additional Pokemon and features.

The announcement of the DLCs came after the company announced that over five million copies of Pokemon Pokopia have been sold worldwide, four months following its launch.

“With the title continuing to reach new milestones, attention is now turning to what comes next for players. The latest sales figures highlight the strong ongoing interest in the game, while the upcoming Expansion Pass is set to expand the experience even further,” Pokemon said in a statement.

Pokopia is the company’s first cozy sandbox game. There, players get to play as a Ditto transformed to look like a human, and restore a desolate land with the help of Pokemon friends.
