Red rainfall warning raised over Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila has been placed under a red rainfall warning Monday afternoon as the southwest monsoon, or habagat, continued to trigger heavy rain across the capital and nearby provinces.

PAGASA raised the red warning at 12:47 p.m. on August 17, indicating serious flooding is expected in flood-prone areas.

Bataan was also under red warning, along with parts of Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal and Cavite.

  • Pampanga: Floridablanca, Lubao, Sasmuan, Macabebe, Masantol
  • Bulacan: Obando, Bulakan, Malolos, Meycauayan, Hagonoy, Paombong
  • Rizal: San Mateo, Rodriguez
  • Cavite: Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta, Rosario

Orange warning

An orange rainfall warning, where flooding is threatening, was raised over parts of Zambales, Pampanga, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas and Laguna.

Yellow warning

Parts of Tarlac, Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Bulacan, Cavite and Batangas were under yellow warning, indicating possible flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
