MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will continue to affect Luzon and the western part of the Visayas today, with Zambales and Bataan expected to endure heavy rainfall, the state weather bureau said in its 24-hour weather forecast and subsequent weather advisory yesterday.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, the rest of Central Luzon and Antique will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be felt in the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

The low-pressure area being monitored outside of the Philippine area of responsibility now has a “low” chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

It was last located at 2,135 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.
